REAL TIME achieved success on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter in 2023. REAL TIME is the second Ukrainian designer watch created by ZAVOD team after the success of the first RIDER1991 watch in 2017. The main designer of the REAL TIME project is Aleksej Iskos, a Danish designer of Ukrainian origin. He creates furniture, lighting and other design products for Muuto, Hay, Fritz Hansen, Normann Copenhagen and others, combining Danish minimalism with the poetic soul of his motherland to spread modern vibes around the world.

Restrained and sophisticated, but at the same time poetic and expressive, REAL TIME watches are recognized as a tribute to the analog world in the digital age.

A watch is, first of all, an instrument for measuring time, so the team of artists drew inspiration from traditional instruments that can be found in a scientist's laboratory or a pilot's cockpit. REAL TIME does not have anу hands. Instead, two discs rotate like planets around the Sun. The authors of the project believe that this gives a better feeling of time to see the minutes spin and the hours slowly disappear from sight beneath the metal case.

‘ZAVOD planned to launch the REAL TIME project in the spring of 2022. The war severely interfered with all plans. Fates and lives have changed, the country has changed. In the blink of an eye, peaceful reality turned from calm and creative to monstrous and terrible. Most of the team members left their homes, sent their wives and children abroad, some went to serve in the Ukrainian army. A few weeks after the start of the war, we gathered online, talked together and decided to continue working on REAL TIME. Because we can't give up doing what we love to work with. Because life must continue even in wartime. Because even the most terrible present will not make people stop believing in the future, their own and their home country of Ukraine’, recalls the project team.

Today, most people on Earth are not able to see the Milky Way from their residence because of light pollution, the inappropriate or excessive use of artificial light. That's why REAL TIME shows some places with dark skies around the world that are good for stargazing. You will find their names and coordinates on the back of the watch, as well as a map of the starry sky, the date and time of the annual meteor shower.

People are used to looking too much at the ground or screens, but not enough at the stars or the people around them. The watch itself cannot change this, but Real Time will serve as a reminder that the best moments cannot be broadcast — they happen in real life, with real people and in real time.
